From our door

From here, the whole valley unfolds in a day.

Two or three places in a day, planned at the front desk. Pick a direction — the valley loop, the climb to Mussoorie, or the Ganga at Haridwar and Rishikesh — and we arrange the car and the route. When the journey is the Char Dham, this is where it begins.

Day journeys

Three directions, three perfect days.

Mix and match the stops to your pace — we suggest three or four per day. Distances are short; the valley is small and the hills are close.

Day One

The Doon Valley

A relaxed loop around the city — temples, springs and a river that hides underground — all within a short drive of the door.

  • Robber's Cave (Guchhupani)

Wade through a cool river gorge where the stream vanishes and reappears.

  • Tapkeshwar Mahadev

An ancient cave Shiva temple on the Tons, the shivling fed by dripping spring water.

  • Sahastradhara

The 'thousand-fold spring' — sulphur springs and terraced streams long held to be healing.

  • Forest Research Institute

Grand colonial lawns and one of the world's largest brick buildings.

  • Sai Darbar Mandir

A serene white-marble Shirdi Sai temple on Rajpur Road.

Day Two

Up to Mussoorie

The winding climb to the Queen of the Hills, with stops on the way up and the long view back over the valley.

  • Prakasheshwar Mahadev

A roadside Shiva temple that takes no donations — free halwa prasad and tea for all.

  • Dehradun Zoo (Malsi)

A leafy deer park, an easy family stop on the way up.

  • Mussoorie Lake

Boating and valley views just below the town.

  • Mall Road & Gun Hill

The colonial promenade and the ridgelines of the hill station.

  • Kempty Falls

The famous tiered waterfall, beyond the town.

Day Three

Haridwar & Rishikesh

The holy Ganga in a single day — the great evening aarti, the suspension bridges and the ghats.

  • Har Ki Pauri

Haridwar's central ghat and the spectacular evening Ganga Aarti.

  • Mansa Devi

A hilltop temple reached by ropeway above Haridwar.

  • Lakshman & Ram Jhula

Rishikesh's iconic suspension bridges over the river.

  • Triveni Ghat

Riverside aarti and the calm of the yoga capital.

The bigger journey

The threshold of the Char Dham.

Dehradun is the gateway to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Make the Oriental your first night and your basecamp — rest after the train, set out fresh, and let us arrange the road ahead, from transport to the stays along the way.

Groups & pilgrims

Large groups, handled with ease.

We host big tour and pilgrim groups — up to around 80 — with buffets managed in-house and a single point of contact, so the whole party eats, rests and moves on time.

The travel desk

One desk for the whole trip.

Cars and drivers, day routes, Char Dham logistics and onward travel — arranged by our own team who run these roads every season. Tell us your dates and we'll build the days around you.

Start at our door

Stay a night, see the valley, head for the hills.
