Day One
The Doon Valley
A cave where a river vanishes, a dripping Shiva cave-shrine, sulphur springs and the colonial lawns of the FRI — all within a short drive.
Robber's Cave · Tapkeshwar · Sahastradhara · FRI · Sai Darbar
Step off the train into the oldest corner of Dehradun. From this doorstep the valley opens, the rivers call, and the road to the Dhams unwinds. An old name — Hotel Oriental, here since 1947 — rebuilt from the ground up, with brand-new rooms and a front desk that plans the journey for you.
Arrive easily, rest well, and leave the planning to us.
The doorstep
Most hotels are somewhere you go after you arrive. Oriental is where you arrive — a five-minute walk from the railway platform and the Mussoorie bus stand, set at the mouth of Paltan Bazaar, with the whole Doon valley fanning out from the door and the mountains just forty-five minutes away.

Since 1947
One family has kept a hotel here since the year of independence. When the old building had given all it could, we didn't dress it up — we rebuilt it from the ground up, and found 1927 bricks in the walls as we did. Old soul, new building. Same welcome.

From our door
Two or three places in a day, planned from the front desk. Pick a direction — the valley, the hills, or the holy Ganga — and we'll handle the road.

Day Three
The holy Ganga in a day — the ghats and the great evening aarti at Har Ki Pauri, the suspension bridges and ashrams of Rishikesh.
Har Ki Pauri · Ganga Aarti · Lakshman Jhula · Triveni Ghat
Headed higher? Dehradun is the threshold of the Char Dham — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Make Oriental your first night and we'll arrange the road ahead.
